Methodology-training on assessing the needs of civic societies

The Századvég Foundation is a scientific center engaged in educational activities implementing a model integrating basic theoretical approach and analysis of the real social processes. The Civic Academy operates within a framework, coordinating all activities pertaining to civic society. During our work, we consider it important that our services meet genuine needs and demands. We aim to strengthen this approach in our partners and we work on creating opportunities for them to acquire the necessary skills.

In 2007 the Academy started one of its most successful training-programs called "Élőben kapcsoljuk" ("Connecting live") implemented in coordination with our long-term partner, Ifjúsági Koordinációs és Szolgáltató Egyesület (the Youth Association for Coordination and Services). The experiences of the first years suggest that there is a great need and demand for programs promoting need-assessment among civic societies, and that the organizational need assessment implemented by the help of this program can give new directions to organizational thinking and operation. Our aim is, therefore, to carry on the successful program. Within this framework we also intend to start an alternate program assisting organizations after finishing the first year of their training by giving them special attention in the form of a professional workshop.
