Education / Postgraduate study
The Századvég Academy of Politics was established in 1991 as a pioneering initiative of the regime-change in Hungary. The Founders of the school were the first to educate a new generation of politicians and political scientists, since they were well-prepared and committed towards the values of democratic political culture. The institution's innovative curriculum has been responding properly to the new challenges. The postgraduate programme offers a training model that combines basic theories of political issues, analysis of actual social processes, and the development of practical political skills and abilities, thereby simultaneously providing a theoretical base and the practical skills necessary for either a politician or political scientist.
• extend the knowledge of public administration to those working on different levels - both central and local; • help business leaders' orientation in an ever-changing world of politics; • provide proper knowledge and skills for those working in the world of media and communication; • foster more proper and efficient operation of the institutions of both civil society and the non-profit sector by training their specialists at a high level. • promote the development of democratic political culture by jointly training students with different political values. The postgraduate program of the Századvég Academy of Political Science offers a training model that provides a comprehensive knowledge combining theoretical connections in political science, the analysis of real social procedures, and practical political skills and competences. The course of education is accredited by the Budapest Corvinus University. Students in the program master the specifications of political science by studying almost thirty subjects. First year education has a general character and involves core material (Constitutional law, Theoretical Political Science, Comparative political science, History of Political Science), second year involves mainly practical subjects (Interest enforcement, Public opinion polls, Organizational psychology, Rhetoric, Practical political analysis, etc.). Furthermore, we provide regular training sessions in the parliament. We recommend this program for those, who: • are experts of political parties or organizations, or fill leading positions in their apparatus; |
