Publishing / Századvég

The journal, Századvég, re-launched in the spring of 1996, is intended to be a forum. In this forum, the most acute social problems are outlined. Our journal gives space for various approaches. We want to contribute to making the disciplinary walls erected by the specialization of modern social sciences more permeable. We publish articles on sociology, political science, history, economy, and philosophy alike. The colorful nature of different approaches means that we respect the theoretical basis, and historic approaches as much as we respect statistical data or the life of an individual and the lessons one can create generally. The walls dividing scientific knowledge/approach, and everyday knowledge/argument are even more non-permeable than the dividing lines between different areas of science. We think that representatives of science should publish their knowledge in a manner that addresses a wider public but does not diminish the skill of their scientific argument. This is not a question of ability but rather a question of determination and effort.
